About
Tamar Schwarz is an Israeli Director and Cinematographer. Tamar's journey in the film industry began at Alon High School of Arts in 2013, where her initial experience in acting sparked an interest in the art of filmmaking. This interest led her to pursue further studies at the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television at Tel Aviv University, from 2020 to 2024.
During her first year at university, Tamar directed the short film "Goor." This film was recognized at the Couch Film Festival and the Europe Independent Movie Festival, winning the "Best Student Film" award. Her subsequent short film "Season 21" also received the "Best Student Film" award at the Rome International Film Festival and was nominated at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.
In her role as a cinematographer, Tamar has contributed to various projects, including the web Series "Children of Dawn" and "We Are Back" wich were nominated for the Academy Awards of 2025. Also including the film "Wanna Play?" which has won the support of Keren Makor initiative. Her work in these projects highlights her skills in visual storytelling and her versatility in the film industry.
